No calling in sick for you!

You may have noticed a few mom-n-pops stores located in obscure locations. You may have also noticed that these stores are family-run businesses attached to the families' homes - Gulick Delicatessen, for example. Odds are these businesses have been around since the first migrants. This style of home-business attachment is highly prevalent in Japan. There's really no calling sick to the boss but, imagine if you could wake up, go downstairs and whip up your own Unagi donburi. =)
